I have some exciting news to share. My good friend Jason Burkholder and I just finished writing and recording a 4 song EP for our new band! Jason is a great song writer and a very talented musician who can play many different instruments. He focused his efforts on playing bass for this group. We will be mixing the EP soon and it will be released this fall.

The music contains elements of rock, funk, jazz, fusion, and progressive rock. We talked about having vocals on it but we decided to leave it as all instrumental for the EP.

We can’t wait to release the EP to the world. We have some very cool marketing ideas to get this music heard. I’ll post more info about the group and some samples of the music as it becomes available.

Make Music Denver – Gathering of the Guitars

I was just asked to appear at Make Music Denver on June 21st. I will be the lead teacher at Gathering of the Guitars in Skyline Park from 11:30-12:30.

I’m not sure yet what the exact format of my class will be. I can promise it will be fun and informal. Plus it’s free and it’s open to guitarists of all ages and ability levels.

Cupid, Ofelia and Joe

When I lived in LA, I had the good fortune to get involved in two of the talented filmmaker Avi Glijansky’s projects. I arranged a song for his web series The Further Adventures of Cupid and Eros. I also appeared as an extra in a few of the episodes, which was an awesome experience. Avi just released season one of Cupid on DVD, which is available at this link:

You can also watch Cupid on the series site, YouTube, Vimeo and elsewhere online.

I was also involved with arranging and performing the score to Avi’s short film Ofelia and Joe. We started on a hot Friday night in July with a melody that Avi’s father wrote in the late 60′s or early 70′s and by dinner time on Sunday, we had completed and recorded the score. Check it out here:

I’m getting settled in Denver/Boulder area and things are starting to materialize for me. I have some music projects that are in the works for both jazz and rock that I’m really excited about. I’ll update again with more info on those projects soon. I’m also getting guitar and music students and I’m going to be kicking off a huge local marketing campaign this week to continue to get my name out in the general community. It’s great living in Colorado and I’m looking forward to seeing where things go in the year ahead!
